Festival check-in

Check-in hub

Start with the reason you are here. Attendees and volunteers each have their own check-in flow so the festival can keep arrival, attendance, and any code-backed shift credit clean.

Choose your path

Attending and volunteering stay separate on purpose

Attendees should get a fast event check-in and survey. Volunteers need a shift-based flow with check-in, check-out, and hours only when a coordinator has issued a shift code. Signature-event SignupGenius signups do not automatically create a check-in code here.

Attending an event

Use the event code from staff or scan the event QR. Complete the short survey to finish attendance credit and impact reporting.

Volunteering today

Use the 6-character shift code from your volunteer lead. Check in when you arrive and check out when your shift ends so hours and volunteer credit stay accurate. Codes identify pre-assigned internal shifts only.

Why this is split

One front door, different jobs to be done

Arrival check-in helps the festival understand where guests are visiting from. Attendee event check-in validates attendance. Volunteer check-in tracks assigned internal shifts, hours, and follow-through after a coordinator has issued a code.

That keeps the public flow clearer while still supporting shared impact reporting underneath.

Arrival support

Guest arrival check-in

Share your zip code at an entry point or on the shuttle, then open the map, schedule, and social links in one step.

This supports arrival reporting only. Event attendance and volunteer credit happen in their own flows.

Event check-in status

Published event codes are live when an event is ready for attendee check-in.

Event code inventory unavailable

Event attendance is only recorded after the short survey that follows a valid code.

Explorer path

Island Explorer stop check-in

At each partner stop, scan the counter QR or enter the short check-in code on-site in Island Explorer.

Confirmed Explorer stops appear in My Festival activity.

Volunteer flow

Volunteer shift check-in

This path is only for assigned volunteers with an internal shift code. Use your code, check in on arrival, and return here to check out when your shift ends. SignupGenius registration by itself does not create a same-day code-backed shift in this tool.

Volunteer check-in

Check in to your assigned shift

Use the 6-character shift code from your volunteer lead to find your assignment, check in when you arrive, and check out when your shift ends. The code identifies a pre-assigned shift. It does not reserve a new slot on the day of.

How this works

1. Find assigned shift by code.

2. Check in when you arrive.

3. Check out when your shift ends to log hours.

4. Complete the event survey to finish your attendance record for the event.
